Things That Make You Go Hmm...: Princess Claire and the Royal Ruff
I know these pictures from the Belgian royal family's Christmas concert are a little bit old by now, but we need to talk about this.
Focus your eyes amongst the gray on the grayest of them all, Princess Claire.
What's going on here?? This is a serious question. Is that fringy thing a necklace, or a part of the dress? Are my eyes really spying a neck ruff here? Somebody please explain this to me.

I don't talk about royal men's fashion too much on the blog, apart from some incidental admiration and/or doses of eye candy for the lady (and selected gentleman) readers. It's not that interesting, really: suit, tie, repeat. The Danish royal men are prone to the occasional show of sartorial flare...
But even the best laid plans have a tendency to go astray.
So I was particularly excited to see these pictures surface of Prince Harry in Berlin.
Now, this is how it's done.
Well fit coat atop a sweater atop a shirt and tie in coordinating patterns. I could get used to this.

Autumn Phillips, the wife of Peter Phillips, gave birth to a girl
Mrs Peter Phillips was yesterday safely delivered of a baby girl at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. The weight of the baby was 8lbs 8oz. Mr Peter Phillips was present at the birth.
The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Princess Royal, Captain Mark Phillips and Autumn’s family have been informed and are delighted with the news. The baby’s name will be confirmed in due course.
This baby is the first child for Peter and Autumn, the first grandchild for The Princess Royal and the first great-grandchild for The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, and is twelfth in line to the Throne

The Europa 2011 is declared as Year of Forests. The first Europa stamps of this year will be issued by Greenland on 17 January 2011.
2 Central Base Post Office Philatelic Exhibition-2010
A one day Philatelic Exhibition was organised by 2 Central Base Post Office, 99 APO at 211 Field Workshop Coy, Barrackpore Military Station on 20 December 2010. The exhibition was organized mainly for the Troops and their families. Several eminent philatelists of Kolkata were specially invited to exhibit their valued collections. THE EXHIBITION WAS A GRAND SUCCESS.
