50 years of Philatelic club of Rottweil

The cancellation depicts Rottweiler Dog

The Rottweiler is one of the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI) recognized German breed. According to the breed standard dogs have up to 68 cm at the withers, bitches up to 63 cm. The Rottweiler is a heavy and sturdy dog. Yet it is neither heavy nor light and neither leggy nor weedy. His correctly proportioned, compact and powerful build leads to the conclusion of great strength, agility and endurance. The weight of males is about 50 kg, kg dogs approx 42nd Rottweilers have a short black coat with undercoat , which is on the cheeks, the mouth, the eyebrows, under the tail and on the chest and legs clearly defined tan markings, the brand has. With strong body and powerful bite, he is a good guard dog at the same time and is a popular family dog.

Moricsala Reserve - The oldest nature reserve in Latvia

"The oldest nature reserve in Latvia – the Moricsala Reserve – is almost closed to visitors and can be visited only with a special permit issued by Slītere National Park administration. The reserve is located in Kurzeme, on the lake of Usma, and occupies a small part of the lake gulfs and two islands – Moricsala (the island gained its name from the son of the Sachsen Prince-elector August, later French Marshal Moriz, who was hiding on the island with a small military unit of Russian troops in 1727) and the Big Alder Isle (Lielā Alkšņu sala). The area of the reserve is 802 ha and has been recognised as a Natura 2000 territory. There is exceedingly rich flora and fauna on Moricsala:  409 species of vascular plants, 157 species of moss, 338 species of mushrooms, 82 species of lichens, more than 40 species of birds and 320 species of butterflies. More than 100 species are considered rare and endangered, not only in Latvia, but also in many other European countries. Moricsala is notable for the fact that, for the last couple 100 years, there have been no human economic activities, thus giving the island a unique and rarely seen wild woodland landscape. "

Here is a beautiful stamp to be issued by Monaco Post to commemorate the big Tennis event “ 2012 Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters Tennis Tournament ”. The design of the stamp is wonderful and sure to be liked by collectors of Sports theme as well as  sport enthusiasts !! The stamp features the official poster of the tournament  designed by artist Andrew Davidson.

 

2012 MONTE-CARLO ROLEX MASTERS

The Monaco Post has issued a stamp commemorating the upcoming Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters tennis tournament. From 14 to 22 April 2012, the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters will host the elite of world tennis.

Last year, during the tournament 2011 the tennis star Rafael Nadal achieved a feat by winning his seventh consecutive victory, while the tournament registered a record attendance of 125,000 spectators.
