Tributes to young achiever !!

Pakistan Post issued a postage stamp on Arfa Karim, Pakistan’s most talented young girl and World’s youngest Microsoft Certified Professional on 2nd February, her 17th birth anniversary . Her extraordinary contribution in the field of IT will be a role model for the younger generation. Arfa Karim became Microsoft-certified Professional at the age of nine in 2004 and had a science park in Lahore named after her. Arfa Karim was invited by Bill Gates to visit the Microsoft headquarters in the United States when she was only 10-year-old. This Post is a tribute to the young achiever of Pakistan !!
Arfa Karim, the world's youngest Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), died at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) on January 14 at the age of only sixteen. She suffered an epileptic seizure in December 2011, which affected her brain and heart. She suffered for 26 days at the CMH before she lost her life to the condition. She was born in 1995.
In August 2005, Arfa was honoured by the government of Pakistan with the Fatima Jinnah Gold Medal in the field of Science and Technology. In 2006, she also participated in Microsoft keynote session in the Tech-Ed Developers Conference held in Barcelona. The theme of the conference was “Get ahead of the game”.
She also received the Salaam Pakistan Youth Award in 2005 set up by Pakistan's only Nobel laureate Dr Abdul Salam. She was also the recipient of the Presidential Award for Pride of Performance.

Eid Greetings…
Eid Mubarak !!
With the Eid (Forever) stamp, the U.S. Postal Service honors two of the most important festivals in the Islamic calendar: Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. On these days, Muslims wish each other Eid mubarak, This new Eid stamp released on the 12th August features the Arabic phrase "Eid mubarak" in gold calligraphy on a reddish background. Eid mubarak translates literally as "blessed festival," and can be paraphrased "May your religious holiday be blessed." English text on the stamp reads "EID GREETINGS."
First Eid Stamp issued by USPS in 2001
The new background color and calligraphy on this stamp will help customers and postal clerks distinguish the Forever stamp from the original Eid stamp, which was first issued in 2001 with gold calligraphy on a blue background.

New stamps on Youth Olympic Games
Hi ! Recently Pakistan & Sri Lanka Post issued a commemorative stamp on the 1st Youth Olympic Games 2010 held in in Singapore. The colorful stamps are shown here. A new special cover was released in Coimbatore on 18th August with a nice picture of Gibbons . It’s a beautiful cover for wildlife stamp collectors. The Youth Olympic Games (YOG) is an international multi-sport event which was first held in Singapore from August 14 to August 26 2010. The games are planned to be held every four years in staggered summer and winter events consistent with the current Olympic Games format. The Youth Olympic Games feature athletes between the ages of 14 and 18.

I am in dire need of this MS & shall be very thankful if any reader from Indonesia could help me to get this MS for my collection which I am preparing on Climate Change. Hi ! Here are the latest nice issues from Pakistan. In Pakistan year 2009 is celebrated as National year of Environment. A set of four stamps depict beautiful flora and fauna. Another stamp issued to commemorate 10th Economic Co-operation Organization Summit at Tehran. depicting flags of the partcipating nations .Another stamp shown at bottom was issued to commemorate Golden Jubilee of famous Habib Public School. Hi Readers ! I am back again with new information. I had a short break just to enjoy the monsoon weather here. I had a chance to visit the forest area. It is all green around with a variety of plants all over here. Different varieties of mushrooms, lichens and ferns can be seen here these days besides conifers and other trees. Sometimes it is drizzling and sometimes very heavy showers.The rains are all over here making the hills green and beautiful.One can see many small and big springs and waterfalls around, amidst the roaming clouds on the hills giving a picuturesque view of this beautiful place of Shimla. Sometimes it's all foggy with zero visibility but the weather is very pleasant making everything full of life around. In Today's Post a good news for the philatelists of Chandigarh. A philatelic exhibition is proposed to be held in Chandiharh in the month of October. Some new stamps from India . Today is the Independence Day of our neighbouring country Pakistan. Our greetings to all readers of Pakistan. . Tomorrow we will be celebrating our 62nd Independence Day. Some special se-tenants from the album of Shri Shrikant Parikh. 'One Frame Exhibit' Exhibition will be held from 1st to 3rd October 2008 in the 3rd floor of GPO Chandigarh. A Special Cover will also be released on the occasion. It is also proposed to have stalls for the dealers during the exhibition.

Olympic Festival
I have organised an Olympic Festivl from the 6th -24th August 2008.It is in assocation with the embassy of the Poeple's Republic of China in India and Le Meridien Hotel. This festival was inaugurated by the the Chinese Ambassador in India and Dr Karan Singh at La Belvedere, Hotel Le Meridien on the 20th Floor, on 6th August at 7.30 pm. I have displayed 10 frames of Olympic Stamps, starting from the Ancient to the 2008 Games.70 photographs on China and losts of artifacts.
New Issue from India
The long awaited issue on Indian Coast Guard has been finally issued by India Post on 12 August 2008. It was earlier issued mistakenly at some remote places. It includes four stamps and a beautiful Miniature Sheet. These stamps are not available at all Philatelic Bureaues of India. The duties of Coast Guard includes providing protection to fishermen and giving assistance to them at sea while in distress, preservation and protection of marine enviroment, safety and protection of offshore installations and artificial islands .
