Competition Venues of the Games of the Beijing 2008 Olympiad

India Post issued a stamp on 21 July to commemorate 250 years of 14 Punjab (Nabha Akal). Here is the First Day Cover of this issue. Few days are left to The Olympic Games . The sport lovers are excited all over the world and are waiting for the fabulous opening ceremony of this mega Sports event. I have some very beautiful philatelic items to show you on Olympic Games. China has issued a set of 10 magnificent post cards besides a number of stamps to commemorate this event. I am giving two of them here . I will show rest of them in my forthcoming posts. I have a very interesting item on Olympic Games issued by Germany in 1972 for Munich Olympics. It is a very rare item and hardly available even in Germany. The details about this rare item were sent by our distinguished member Mr. Shrikant Parikh from Ahmedabad.In the last part of this post some more nice se-tenants from India and news from our members. Sheet of 80 stamps issued by Germany for Munich Olympic Games in 1972

This is the topmost item for Se-tenant issues as well as items available on Olympic Games. 20 Blocks of 4 all se-tenant with 3 Gutter margins, 2 Longer and 1 shorter, making hundreds of combinations. These Complete sheets are very rare and even hard to find in Germany. This item may be thrilling for se-tenant collectors as well those collecting on Olympic Games.Our member Mr. Shrikant Parikh who has specialized on se-tenant issues, is not only a keen collector of se-tenant stamps of India but he has one of the best items of se-tenants from other countries too. This rare sheet is part of his collection.

Philatelist name enters Limca Book of Records

The name of Mr. Rajesh Paharia has entered the Limca Book of Records for his rare collection of stamps on Indian Flag from 38 countries. Mr Paharia is an active member of Rajasthan Philatelic Society and is also editor of PHILA NEWS published by Philatelic Society of Rajasthan. Our Heartiest Congratulations to him.
